Daikin

Daikin is proud to sponsor the Greater Manchester delegation to Osaka Expo 2025—a milestone that reflects both its identity as a Japanese company and its shared commitment with GMCA to delivering a greener, more sustainable future.

Daikin’s objectives for the mission are twofold. First, the organisation aims to showcase the collaborative achievements delivered through our two-year Memorandum of Understanding with Greater Manchester Combined Authority. From installing 1,500 heat pumps and training college tutors, to advancing green skills and smart energy solutions across homes and public buildings, the partnership has laid vital groundwork for long-term decarbonisation.

Daikin is also proud to support community-led initiatives such as the Embassy Village project in Manchester, providing heat pumps for all 41 homes and offering skills training to help residents access careers in the growing green economy.

Second, this mission will reconfirm the commitment to working in close partnership with GMCA to help realise their ambitious goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2038. Being part of the delegation—and contributing to the Low Carbon Summit hosted by Deloitte and events at the UK Pavilion—is an opportunity to demonstrate the power of public-private collaboration in tackling climate challenges at scale.

Daikin hopes its participation highlights to other UK and Japanese businesses the real potential of working strategically with Combined Authorities. It’s through these place-based partnerships that innovation can meet action—driving progress not just for one region, but for a more sustainable global future.
