From the 4th to the 9th of September 2025, there will be exciting free activities showcasing Japanese culture across the city! From interactive performances to hands on experiences, there is loads to do for all ages!

Visit the outdoor stage in First Street to get a taste of some of the acts taking place during Japan Week. Expect to see traditional Japanese dance, pop artists and even Samurai performances!

Visit HOME for an evening of exciting traditional Japanese performances. Immerse yourself in the art and culture of Japan through stage performances. Expect a range of Japanese performing art like samurai, music, dance, and theatre.

Drop by Aviva Studios to see a range of exciting stalls and workshops! Activities range from Japanese artwork, calligraphy, tasting, games, kimono dressing, and tourist information

Visit Manchester Museum and experience the traditional beauty of the Japanese tea Ceremony. The tea ceremony focuses on the preparation and serving of matcha (powdered green tea). This tradition reflects the principles of Zen Buddhism and Japanese aesthetics.
