This Saturday, visitors to the Japanese Food Markets at St Anne’s Square will be treated to a very special experience as Sangane Senden-sha bring their joyful chindon performance to the heart of Manchester!

- Colourful performers in traditional dress parading through the market.
- The lively sounds of drums, cymbals and wind instruments filling the square.
- A playful, interactive performance that gathers people together and creates a true festival atmosphere.
The group represents the tradition of chindonya — performers who historically paraded through Japan’s streets, using music and theatre to promote shops, products, and community events. With their mix of entertainment and energy, they are unlike anything else in the world.
