Nicole Strickland, International Trade & Investment Principal, GMCA

As International Trade & Investment Principal, Nicole leads on the development of GMCA’s strategic direction and policy priorities for trade and investment as well as leading on the delivery of priorities relating to international trade and inward investment in the GM Local Industrial Strategy and GM International Strategy. Nicole also leads on GMCA’s international stakeholder relationships with various key Government departments such as DBT and wider GM partners such as GMCC and MIDAS.

Having spent 15 years living in Asia, Nicole is fluent in Mandarin and possesses an interest in emerging markets and global trade. Prior to joining GMCA, Nicole worked for Manchester India Partnership where she supported Greater Manchester in developing closer ties with India by uniting private businesses, academia and the public sector across India and GM to build and strengthen trade, investment, culture, and education ties. Nicole also worked at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce leading on Asia where she actively engaged with companies looking to export, import and invest in the region developing her knowledge around high-level policy and trade. Nicole has a BA (Hons) Chinese and Business & Management degree from the University of Manchester and was awarded a Certificate in International Trade from the British Chambers of Commerce.
